About Sami
Meet Sami Mills, an energetic and vibrant DJ/Producer from Tulsa, Oklahoma. As a house and techno producer and DJ, he weaves together an electrifying blend of sounds inspired by a diverse range of genres. Sami grew up surrounded by diverse musical influences such as Gospel, Country, Hip Hop, Rock, R&B, EDM, and Classical. All of which come together in a unique blend that gives his music that unexpected kick and his makes his sets, what is often described as, an electrifying experiences.
Growing up in a rural Kansas town with just under 600 residents, Sami's early years were far from lavish. At 16, he discovered his passion for music and embarked on a self-taught journey to master various instruments, learning on an extremely old and beat up piano and a borrowed guitar. His determination led him to Berklee College of Music, where he expanded his skills and repertoire and eventually learning over 12 different instruments.
Sami's music career has been a rollercoaster of experiences. From touring with country, jazz, and rock bands to his current role as a rising player in Tulsa's electronic music scene, his journey is as diverse as his music. Notable Tulsa events like Sunlab, Sip n Slide, Monochromatica, Cry Baby Hill, Fantasy, and Impact, have hosted his energetic performances. He's also found a home as a resident DJ at Tulsan bar, adding his touch to help expand the city's house and techno scene.
Beyond the beats, Sami is all about inclusion and creation. He's the visionary behind the Day Social Disco Club, and recently collaborating with LGBTQ organizations like Tulsa Equality Center to create vibrant Vogue and Ballroom events.
In 2022, Sami introduced his debut album "Where I Can Sleep," a snapshot of his artistry. This year, he's primed to release a series of singles and remixes, building anticipation for his upcoming EP.
